Jodhpur, situated in the western part of Rajasthan, is known as blue city and cultural capital of the state. It is a vibrant city in terms of its festivals and rituals which are celebrated by its inhabitants. Old city of Jodhpur is famous for its historical buildings, havelis, temples, ponds, step tanks and old marketplaces. A significant representation of the city’s heritage is the Mehrangarh Fort with its beautiful stone carvings which are still intact despite being four to five centuries old.

The handicraft industry of Jodhpur is known for its quality and craftsmanship. Bandhani textiles and colourful mojaris are particularly popular among tourists due to their unique design. Jodhpur is also known for its food. Mawa Kachori, Mirchi Bada and Rabri Ladoo form part of Jodhpur’s exquisite local cuisine.

This walk will explore the various nooks and corners of the city, often referred to as the microcosm of the country due to the diverse cultures and faiths they are able to accomodate.
