A Journey to the Pune’s Iconic Citadel—Aga Khan Palace

Built by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III in 1892, the Aga Khan Palace stands as a landmark in Indian architectural history. The palace was built by the Sultan in order to help poor people of the famine-stricken neighbouring areas of Pune.

Aga Khan Palace collection contains photos and portraits from the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and other fighters for India’s freedom struggle. It is also the headquarter of the Gandhi National Memorial Society.

This meet will take participants through the history of the palace and its significance in the country’s historical narrative.

This is an Instameet organised with Pune Food Hunt.
