Mumbai fosters art, culture and creativity in every nook and corner, and exploring this can be a magical experience. The purpose of this tour is to familiarise you with the art and architecture of South Mumbai. We will start with the Asiatic Library and see it from the outside. We will discuss the history of the building, after which we will head to the Jehangir Art Gallery at Kala Ghoda. At the Jehangir Art Gallery, we will meet the street artists who sit outside and sell their quirky, beautiful and unique artwork, following which we will head inside to see three exhibitions and engage with the artists, learning about their inspirations and the ways in which they hone their craft. From the Jehangir Art Gallery, we will go to the Delhi Art Gallery, where we will see the exhibitions taking place at present.  We will also visit the Kenneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue (the Blue Synagogue) and learn about the history of the Jewish Community in Mumbai.

Places that will also feature during the tour are the Horniman Circle, the KR Kama Institute, and the David Sassoon Library. The walk is essentially to introduce individuals to the conjunction between art and urban spaces.

This guided tour is free.
