Most visitors to Hyderabad are often directed towards the old city, Golconda fort and other touristy places in the city, completely leaving out a part of the city which has its own history and heritage. Secunderabad, which is much younger than the 427-year-old Hyderabad, has a long list of old churches which were built when the area was a British cantonment. The Secunderabad railway station area particularly houses five interesting old churches (including the 204-year-old St. John’s church, which probably has one of the few functioning pipe organs in Hyderabad). Each of them have their own history and peculiar stories to tell. Come join us for a story-telling session during a walk across the SPG Tamil church, Basilica of Our Lady of Assumption (known as St. Mary’s Church), CSI Wesley church, Centenary Baptist Church and St. John’s Church on a Sunday morning.
